What is PPD?
The Pagan Pride Project is a non-profit organization based in Indiana. The primary purposes of this corporation is the advancement of religion and elimination of prejudice and discrimination based on religious beliefs.

Where is PPD Held?
KC PPD is held in various public parks in the Kansas City area. We do move the event to different parks in search of the “perfect place” and to raise awareness throughout the KC metropolitan area.

How do you find a Beneficiary?
We ask the Community for referrals and recommendations for charities that assist the local KC community. We evaluate our options for whom that organization helps, how they help and how we can help them. We prefer that the Beneficiary/Charity be religious neutral, allowing us to focus on the spirit of the community.

Is KC PPD 501 © (3)
Yes we are a 501( C ) (3) Corporation under the umbrella of the Pagan Pride Project based in Indiana.

Do you have activities for kids?
Yes. KC PPD is a family event and more and more families are joining us each year. We offer child/parent activities and a child friendly play areas (usually Park Play Ground equipment). These activities are “Parents and Children” activities; please join your children when participating in KC PPD child focused activities. We will ask children to find a parent to join them.

What is PPD Mission Statement?
The mission of the Pagan Pride Project is to foster pride in Pagan identity through education, activism, charity and community.
We keep our purpose balanced through the inspirations of Air, Fire, Water, and Earth:
· Air: Education
We're never going to be able to practice our spiritual paths openly if we don't give the public accurate information about what we do and do not do.
· Fire: Activism
People aren't necessarily going to go out of their way to find out what Pagans really do. We have to have the courage to act on our convictions and do what we need to do.
· Water: Charity
We know that what we do returns to us. We need to demonstrate this by offering compassion to our communities where it is needed. When we share our own abundance, we show that we trust the Gods to share abundance with us in return.
· Earth: Community
We're never going to be able to practice openly if we don't know anyone else in our local Pagan communities. We need to weave networking webs in our cities, in our towns, in our rural areas. We need these webs to support one another. That support will also show those who would restrict our practice that we are not just a few isolated wackos, but are a growing congregation of people who adhere to a faith that, while different, is as valid as their own.

What do I need to bring?
We post a wish list on our Website and on many of the local Pagan email list. If you are able to bring an item from the list, or an item to place in the silent auction that is wonderful. If not that is ok too. You may also want to bring something to eat if you are planning on coming for the whole day. Don’t forget your sunscreen and bottled water. Since this is in a public park we ask that you please do not bring alcohol

What will I be expected to do?
Come and have a good time.

What does it cost?
KC PPD is a 100% free event. This is a fundraiser for our chosen charity but you are in no way required to make a donation.

Can I bring my children?
Yes, over the last couple of years we have added children’s activities. These activities are designed for interaction with both the parent and child. Parents are required to be with their children.

How long will it last?
KCPPD normally last from 10 am to 6 pm

Do I need to be there at the beginning?
You are able to come and go as you wish. The line up of speakers will be posted to the website so you can plan your day accordingly. But for the full experience we recommend all day.

Will there be protesters?
We cannot guarantee that there will not be protesters. In the past years we have never had any. However we are fully prepared to handle the situation if protesters do arrive.

What kinds of activities are there?
We have the following activities planned:
   Speakers
   Musical entertainment
   Silent Auction
   Ritual
   Children’s Activities
   Tarot readers

Will it be "sky clad?"
We do not have a dress code, nor will we enforce one. However if you wish to come to KCPPD Sky clad we would ask you to place do so under a pair of jeans and a T-shirt.

Will there be vendors?
I am sorry but due to rules at the City Parks and the cost of special use permits we do not have vending at KCs PPD. We have been to events that had vending and found it took away from the event and from the charity. We are here to raise money and awareness for the charity. There will be a Silent auction with a number of unique items to purchase. Vendors are welcome to donate and item and leave contact information for the bidders further interested in the Vendors products/services.

Why no vendors?
Due to special use permits, a rule of the public parks and that vending tends to take away from the Silent Auction and other donations we don’t have vending at this time. Frankly it boils down to we cannot afford the permits and set up for it. Oh, come on, I've got really cool necklaces. What if I just vend from the truck of my car? If you make contacts and someone is interested in buying something you have we are not going to tell you that you cannot strike a deal. However we cannot have tents and Vending. Sorry folks

I can't follow the map, how do I get there?
We will have signs posted. But you best bet is MapQuest.

I'm the HP/S of a coven, is there a group discount rate we can get?
You bet. Welcome to the community. We will let you in for free.

Can our coven get a table to distribute info?
Yes, if you bring one or we will have an Information table so you can place items for upcoming events and items of community interest

Can I be a speaker?
Yes. Please contact us; we are always looking for speakers. To submit yourself, click here.

Is PPD wheelchair accessible?
Yes if you are mobility challenged we have accommodations for you.

Will there be sign language interpreters?
I am sorry to say that at this time we are not able to provide sign language interpreters. If you know of an interpreter that would be willing to donate their time, please contact us. The cost of this service is beyond the ability of our small volunteer team. Basically we just don’t have the funds.

What's a silent auction?
A Silent Auction is a big table (and over the years we have had to add tables) with items that people have donated. You write your bid on a bid sheet, but you could get out bid. So check on your favorite items frequently and make another bid. It is basically an auction with no auctioneer or eBay on paper.

How do I donate items to the auction?
Click here and contact the folks in charge of the Silent Auction. Some people will bring items that day. We will have plenty of bid sheets available.

Will I really be towed if I park in the grass?
Anything is possible. If you come early you will have prime parking and this wont be an issue.

I can't make it, can I make a donation to the charity anyway
Yes, please. One of the things we would love to see (and why we do this) is to raise awareness of local charities and service groups. If you do make a donation we hope you would mention PPDs name when donation. Our goal is to help the Charity.

How do I submit t-shirt art?
Send an email to Infiniti by May 15th. You can submit in any format, though if your submission is accepted we will need to make changes on size, resolution and possibly to fit a t-shirt.
